2003 Angelus Awards Student Film Festival announces call for entries; deadline is July 1
More than $23,000 in cash prizes; top prize is $10,000

HOLLYWOOD – Entries are now being accepted for the eighth annual Angelus Awards Student Film Festival, an international competition honoring college-level student films of uncommon artistic caliber that explore the complexity of the human condition with creativity, compassion and respect. The Angelus Awards ceremony and screening of winning films will be held Oct. 25, 2003 at the Directors Guild of America, Hollywood.The more than $23,000 in cash prizes include the $10,000 Patrick Peyton Excellence in Filmmaking Award, one of the highest cash awards for student filmmakers, and the Priddy Bros. Productions Triumph Award, $5,000 for the film that best reflects a redemptive theme. Other awards categories include Audience Impact, Production Design, Outstanding Documentary and Outstanding Animation.
Eligible films must not be longer than 90 minutes and must have been completed between June 2001 and July 2003 while the filmmaker was an undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited film school or university.
