Free tickets available for 2004 Angelus Awards

HOLLYWOOD – The seven winners of $24,800 cash awards, including the $10,000 Patrick Peyton Excellence in Filmmaking Award, will be announced publicly, receive their awards and have their films screened at the ninth annual Angelus Awards ceremony at 5:30 p.m., Saturday, October 23rd at the Directors Guild of America, Hollywood. Actor Edward Herrmann (Intolerable Cruelty, Gilmore Girls) will be the master of ceremonies.Three Honorable Mention films and a Special Recognition film will be screened at 2:30 p.m. Oct. 23 at the DGA.
Complimentary tickets are available to screen the winning films that explore the complexity of the human condition with creativity, compassion and respect. Angelus Award winning films reflect values such as redemption, spirituality, dignity, tolerance, equality, hope and triumph of the human spirit. In addition to the top prize, other awards are: $5,000 Priddy Bros. Productions Triumph Award for the film that best reflects a redemptive theme; $2,500 Fujifilm Audience Impact; the $2,500 Mole-Richardson Production Design; and $1,800 Outstanding Documentary Award sponsored by the Catholic Academy for Communication Arts Professionals and the $1,500 Outstanding Animation Award. Newly added this year is the $1,500 Act One Screenplay prize. All finalists will receive film-industry-related products and gift certificates.
